Hi, I'm Kikuchi, the trombone player.

You know, Kikuchi, I finally started playing that instrument recently.

Well, even though I say “recently,” it’s actually been a little while now.

If you’ve watched any of my past videos,

you might be thinking, “Oh, so he’s finally taking up that instrument,”

“I haven’t heard a peep from him since that video,” etc…

I imagine you might be thinking something like that.

For those who haven’t seen it, let me explain: Mr. Koyamauchi, a guitar repairman, gave Kikuchi an instrument in exchange for rice from the Kikuchi family.

If you’re curious, you can watch the video below!

Yes.

It’s finally seeing the light of day.

That’s right. The instrument Kikuchi started out with is

the drums.

？？？？？？？？？？？？？

Huh? Wait a minute—weren’t we just talking about the guitar a moment ago?

I can almost hear you saying that.

I can almost hear you saying that—I’m truly sorry.

To those of you who watched the video, I’m truly sorry for taking up your valuable time.

I’ve started playing the drums (lol)

It all started around October 2023.

Around this time of year, we have a certain event at work.

I was racking my brain trying to figure out what to do for it when I got a call from a Mr. Tomita.

“We got a recommendation from Koyamauchi-kun from Guitar Repair, so Kikuchi-kun, you’re going to play drums in our band—count on you! 😄”

？？？？？？？？？？？？？

And just like that, I was hooked (lol).

By the way, Kikuchi had virtually zero drumming experience.

He’d only played for a few minutes during a trial session for his middle school wind ensemble.

When we first started practicing, it was so bad that his hands and feet would move all at once…

Still, after a month of practice leading up to the show, he somehow managed to learn how to play the drums…

I got hooked (lol)

Drums are so much fun!!!!

It really does get more fun as you learn to do more!

Plus, since drumming involves moving almost your entire body, it’s great exercise!

I’ve actually gained a little weight lately (whisper)

Right now I’m just using sticks, but maybe someday I’ll even have my own snare drum _(┐「ε:)_

Huh? My own drum set?

No, no...

That’s a bit much…

You know...?

Thank you for watching!!
