And speaking of August, there’s only one month left in the application period for the 6th Modified Guitar Contest!!
It’s already so soon.
I feel like it was just a few weeks ago that I filmed the video announcing that the modified guitar contest would be held again this year...
Thinking back, it was from the 3rd contest in 2020 that I started being involved with the modified guitar contest.
I’ve been lucky enough to see many lovingly customized guitars, and every time I’m amazed by how truly unique each piece is.
And then, it suddenly came to me:
“Come to think of it, I have a modified guitar too.”
And that’s this Squier Mustang right here!
Actually, this guitar has already been introduced once on TCGAKKI’s YouTube channel, but checking it now, it’s been over four years since then, so it feels quite nostalgic.
This is a Squier that was modified in a Kurt Cobain style, with the rear converted to a humbucker and a Tune-O-Matic bridge installed for stronger tuning stability!
The other day, Mr. Hoshino from Advance Guitars also wrote on his blog, “I tried applying with my own modified guitar,” and…
I’m going to try applying too!
Whenever I make a video or announcement about the modified guitar contest, I always say, “Applying is easy!!,” but there are probably many people who think, “But how do I actually do it?”
So, while showing the application screen, I’ll walk you through how to apply!
This time, I’ll apply using my smartphone!
First, go to the special page for the 6th Modified Guitar Contest at the URL below.

Then the section called “How to Apply” will appear, so click “Apply Here” below it.
Clicking it will take you to the “Modified Guitar Contest Application Form.”
The form has fields for “Name,” “Handle Name,” “Phone Number,” “Email,” “Work Title,” and “Description of the Work,” as well as a section for uploading an image of your work!
Enter the information in order here!
* The handle name may be left blank or filled in.
The description of the work can be a single sentence or a long paragraph—it’s fine either way! Please write about your instrument and your love for it!
When uploading photos, you can either take a photo on the spot or upload a photo you already have.
If you’re uploading multiple images, the easiest way is to post photos you’ve already taken.
Once you’ve finished filling in everything, press “Send,” and when the screen changes to “Submission complete,” your application is done!!
