The “Kubo-Tan” piston buttons for trumpets, designed with the concept of “sound variation and ease of pressing,” have received overwhelmingly positive reviews, far exceeding our expectations!!
The top design, featuring a slightly wider surface area and a very subtle rounded shape, fits comfortably on many players’ fingers.
Available in two materials—brass and nickel silver—with four finish variations:
We currently offer five types: nickel silver (unplated), nickel silver/SP, nickel silver/GP, brass/SP, and brass/GP.
Standard stock includes models for Yamaha and Back. (Compatibility with other manufacturers is also available. Please inquire.)
Solid nickel silver enhances sound focus, resulting in a direct sound. Solid brass, on the other hand, produces a refined sound with greater flexibility.
Plating also makes a significant difference in sound; if you find the nickel silver sound “too sharp,” we recommend trying gold plating, which should be more pleasing to the ear.
Incidentally, nickel silver is popular among wind ensemble and pop musicians, while brass is favored by classical performers.

In both cases, you can expect improved response and smoother fingering compared to standard buttons with mother-of-pearl inlays.
This approach is less likely to compromise the playing feel than adding heavier supports or caps, so it’s also recommended for those who are thinking, “I’d like to try something different.”
