Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Findlay, Jerry Hay, and many other greats have used this maker.
While various manufacturers have come out with wonderful models inspired by Calikio, many people are still fascinated by the rugged design and overwhelming fat sound of the original Calikio, and many are probably still using it.
We are often asked by such players, "I need to replace consumable parts...". We often receive comments such as "I need to replace consumable parts..." from such players.
Although we have replaced felts, corks, and water key springs,The biggest bottleneck is replacing the piston spring of the calikio's characteristic "external spring type".The biggest bottleneck was the replacement of the piston spring, which is a characteristic of calikio.
We had tried many other flugelhorn products, but there was nothing on the market that could do the job.
The Kubokan Custom Club then set out to create a piston spring.
After several months of trial and error, we have reproduced the piston spring for calikio based on the original spring made of stainless steel and slightly barrel-shaped.
