Hello. This is Inoue, the manager of Advance Guitars.
This time, we have an important announcement we'd like to share with everyone...
In our store's instrument magazine...
A feature article on rare colors—a true "oddity" among vintage Gibsons—
A feature article on rare colors has been published!
Column : "Uncovering the History and Full Story of Rare Colors ~ Gibson Acoustic Vintage Rare Color History ~"
When you think of Gibson acoustic guitars, what comes to mind is sunburst,
or natural finish. They are the classic, absolute standard.
Yet, hidden within their long history, colors like black and red... truly exist, radiating a unique brilliance.

Why were they born?
At Advance Guitars, we've handled numerous vintage Gibsons over the years, including the J-45.
Among them, rare-colored instruments like ebony black and cherry red occasionally appear.
This column was written with the intention of visually and systematically compiling not only representative rare colors, but also "phantom colors" thought to exist only in archives. This was achieved by digging up past records, photos, and data as much as possible, drawing from our experience with these scarce instruments.

Why were these colors chosen?
Rather than merely repeating conventional wisdom, I examined the actual vehicles,
and examining the details, I've uncovered "the still-unresolved background of their creation."
This is not merely a list of catalog specifications.
Rather than a mere list of catalog specs, I pursued depth as a readable piece that conveys the atmosphere of the time and the manufacturer's trial and error.
And just like the J-45 article, this piece is not yet complete.
Each rare-color instrument is a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
Whenever new rare colors arrive at Advance Guitars, whenever new facts come to light, this record will be updated, growing into a more comprehensive archive.
Beyond the sunburst lies the captivating world of rare colors.
The content is quite niche, so reading it might take a bit of effort, but guitar enthusiasts are sure to enjoy it.
Viewing is, of course, free.
Please take a look!
