The Flower Movement, originating in San Francisco in the late 1960s, was born from the ideas and movements ofLOVE & PEACE and the Summer of Love
. At the time, bold colors and patterns gained immense popularity and became a worldwide trend.
In 1968, Fender also released Telecaster models featuring floral and paisley patterns, such asthe Blue Flower and Pink Paisley
. These two models were finished using a method distinct from conventional painting.
The technique involved applying real wallpaper to the top and back of the body, then spraying paint over it!
Consequently, when viewed up close, the texture and pattern of the wallpaper fabric are clearly visible.

Produced this way, the Blue Flower and Pink Paisley were discontinued the following year, 1969, making them rare models sold for only a very short period of two years
. Due to their rarity and unique character, these two models gained enduring popularity. In 1984, Fender Japan reissued the Blue Flower and Pink Paisley.
Now, incredibly, a rare example of the Pink Paisley—not just any Pink Paisley, but the one reissued by Fender Japan—has arrived!
