Hello! I'm Oda, your Bass representative!
Can you believe it's already late March?
Since the start of the year, we've been busy preparing for the launch of MGBass's new lineup.
Six new models are now available—have you had a chance to check them out?
Actually, these six are special models TCGAKKI personally selected and ordered with custom wood and electronics!
Here's a quick overview of each one!
While these descriptions are all written from my personal perspective, I want to zoom in on even more of my personal favorite points here.
There's a special announcement at the end, so I'd be thrilled if you'd read all the way through!!
First up is this one with the most "What is this!?" shape!
Extreman headless natural quilted 5

Not many manufacturers make headless guitars, so naturally, few people have actually held one.
At first, I sat down to play it and thought, "It's short and feels unfamiliar." But when I strapped it on and stood up, I was surprised by how good it was – great balance, easy handling, and (as a bonus) it fits in a guitar case.
Of course, the headless design also affects the sound.
While headless designs are commonly associated with a "tight, focused sound," the ash body and ebony fingerboard wood combination further enhances sound separation, resulting in a clear, crisp tone.
The quilted maple grain is absolutely stunning, and I'm grinning to myself thinking how well it pairs with the ebony fingerboard.
Next up
is
the non-headless version of the same Extreman!
Extreman 5 Strings

Out of the six basses this time, only the two above share the same body shape.
MGBass offers such a diverse range of models that I wanted to bring as many as possible to Japan, so I carefully selected them to avoid duplicating models.
Among them, the Extreman body shape really stands out for its exceptional playability and impactful looks, so I ended up ordering two: one headless and one with a headstock.
MGBass typically focuses on natural finishes. Wanting a vibrant color in the lineup, I chose Padauk for the top!
The vivid yet natural reddish hue was absolutely perfect! I'm also excited to see how it ages over time.
With a front single-coil and rear humbucker pickup configuration, it delivers a fundamentally firm sound, yet the Aguilar's wide range allows for extensive sound shaping!
This is the third Infinity model we've received!
Infinity 5 Strings

Among last year's arrivals, we had two 4-string Infinities.
This was the model we first encountered at the NAMM SHOW, and it remains the most memorable model in the MGBass lineup for us.
"We know the Infinity's strengths well. So we wanted a 5-string too!" That's why we ordered this one!
We selected spalted maple for the top and opted for gold tuners and bridge as key aesthetic points.
The knobs are wooden like other Infinities, so even with gold hardware on the tuners and bridge, it doesn't look gaudy
,
which is nice
. With an ash body and maple fingerboard, this wood combination probably gives the most predictable sound you can imagine.
It has an organic, crisp punch – a character you rarely hear in the so-called high-end Bass category.
This is the quintessential Mid-Fi sound.(Link) This is the one where I felt, "This is the greatest charm of MGBass!"
Since this has gotten long, I'll introduce the other models next time!
Now! An announcement for everyone who read this far!
Actually, the band session video using the first one I introduced, the Extreman headless natural quilted 5, is complete! 👏
The bassist is,
none other than,
if I may say so myself,
I'm Oda!
Since I usually only play 4-string Bass, I practiced like crazy on the 5-string Bass. (lol)
By the way, the guitar I'm using is also a TMG Guitar, for which our store is the official distributor!
We've recorded not just this one song, but others I played as well, so I'd be thrilled if you'd stay tuned for updates!
It will be released on our store's YouTube channel, so please check it out!
