This is a TELEFUNKEN BC108C specification FUZZ FACE from the late 1960s to early 1970s!
The Fuzz Face, introduced in late 1966, initially used the PNP germanium transistor NKT275. However, by the late 1960s, the specification changed to the NPN silicon transistor BC108 (other transistors like the BC109 and BC183L have also been confirmed). Several variations in the enclosure and color are also seen.In 1968, following the merger between Arbiter and Dallas Music (known for the Rangemaster), it became branded as "DALLAS-ARBITER・ENGLAND".Furthermore, in 1975, the company was acquired by CBS. This unit is believed to be a late 1960s to early 1970s model bearing the "DALLAS-ARBITER・ENGLAND" name and equipped with a TELEFUNKEN BC108C.Compared to the NKT275 specification, the silicon transistor BC108 offers more headroom in gain. Gradually increasing the FUZZ control unleashes a remarkably thick and powerful sound. Its seemingly endless sustain and crisp, punchy tone exude the presence of a legendary unit that truly lived through the dawn of 1960s-1970s rock. The clean sound when the guitar volume is rolled back is also rich and flavorful, offering ample sonic variety. Considering its age, this unit is in remarkably good condition. The footswitch has been replaced, but since this part doesn't affect the sound, it's recommended for those who aren't particularly concerned about it.
