Work is a major event that profoundly impacts your life. I'm truly grateful that you're interested in working at a music store. However, I know the decision to turn your passion into a career brings many worries and uncertainties.
I still vividly remember the anxiety I felt when I once considered changing jobs to work at a music store.
I want to work at a music store. But many people wonder what the job actually entails, so this...TCGAKKII'd like to share an image of working in a group.
To briefly describe the job duties, the main responsibilities involve customer service for buying and selling musical instruments, as well as handling mail-order sales. This includes related tasks such as product photography, web listing, and social media updates.
Our job is to help enhance our customers' musical lives through activities such as buying and selling instruments.
Music stores have sales quotas, and if they can't meet them, employees face pay cuts or are forced to buy products themselves (self-sacrificing sales tactics). That image makes me uneasy...
It seems quite a few people feel that way. I was actually anxious myself when I changed jobs.
But rest assured,TCGAKKIThe group does not do such things.
Of course, as a company, setting goals and striving to achieve them is essential. However, we never force employees to engage in reckless sales tactics to meet those targets.
I was also worried that if I turned it into a job, I might end up disliking the instrument... but it was an unnecessary worry.
I could tell my seniors were genuinely passionate about their instruments, talking about them constantly even outside of work, and my own collection of instruments at home is steadily growing too.
I think people have the impression that working at a music store means few days off and a lot of overtime.
I once heard from an acquaintance who actually works at a certain music store that overtime is a given, taking days off is difficult, and the reality is harsh—working every day during the New Year holidays for the first-day-of-the-year sales.
That's us.TCGAKKIThere is almost no overtime.
We prioritize "completing work within the allotted time," and all staff plan their daily tasks with the expectation of leaving work at 8:20 PM, which is the scheduled end of the workday.
While there are occasional requests for overtime work—such as handling events or photo shoots that can only be done outside regular hours—these are rare. In fact, if you stay late without permission, you'll likely get scolded by your seniors with a "Go home already!"
We schedule shifts so that employees can take two days off per week, including Wednesdays (our regular closing day) and one additional day assigned to each staff member. During the year-end and New Year period, we typically close for four days. It might be unusual for a music store to close during the year-end and New Year holidays.
I'm also very happy to be able to go to the first shrine visit of the year with my family every New Year's, and each staff member is able to truly cherish their private time.
Many people worry that they won't even be considered for the job without specialized knowledge or experience with musical instruments. However, what we're looking for is someone who approaches the work seriously and can respond flexibly as part of a team—more so than knowledge or experience.
Knowledge is important, but time will take care of that. Our senior staff will teach you everything from scratch, and we have a comprehensive training program for customer service, so please rest assured. I joined the company with no experience myself and learned everything from there.
Of course, experienced candidates are also welcome. If you're currently working at a competitor and considering a career move, feel free to reach out. You'll be surprised at how different things can be when you change companies.
「We aim to "skyrocket your life with emotion and smiles" by delivering instruments that make your dreams come true!
