Explanation
"I want a guitar that commands an overwhelming presence on stage." Many players share this desire: to assert their identity as rock guitarists not only through sound, but also through appearance.
While there are many iconic rock guitar models, only a select few can truly be called "rock icons." It's not just about having a unique design; it's the models that possess both history and sound that have captured players' hearts for the long haul. The Gibson Flying V, introduced in 1958, stands as a prime example. Even now, over half a century after its birth, its unique body and headstock shape continue to captivate rock guitarists.
This Gibson Flying V 2017T has been modified to Bass. While the 2017 model already had a strong rock aesthetic, this particular guitar has been further enhanced with modifications like a mirror guard, resulting in an even more aggressive and impactful look. The guitar body employs the traditional combination of a mahogany body and mahogany neck. The fingerboard uses granadillo wood, producing a powerful and clear tone. Hardware includes Grover tuners, a Tectoid nut, a Tune-O-Matic bridge, and a lightweight aluminum tailpiece, specifications designed to support stable pitch and rich string vibration.
Furthermore, the pickups are custom-equipped: a DiMarzio DP193 Air Norton at the neck and a Seymour Duncan SH-6 Duncan Distortion at the bridge. The Air Norton offers a warm, open tone and balances well with the bridge humbucker. Paired with 500K pots, it effectively brings out the presence of the high frequencies and harmonics. Meanwhile, the Duncan Distortion is a high-output pickup ideal for rock and metal. Its ceramic magnet and hot winding produce powerful mids, while the tight low end handles down-tuning with ease. This combination covers a wide range of sounds, from hard distortion to clean and crunch. This Flying V is specially enhanced for rock, both in looks and sound.
For guitarists who want to stand out on stage. Experience this Flying V—a symbol of rock itself—now finished with an even more aggressive edge.
