Massive analysis of Gibson J-45 guitars from the 1940s to 1960s. The definitive J-45 teardown guide!

=============================================================
The contrast between red and yellow is incredibly cool on this vintage J-45.
Gibson / 1963 J-45 Cherry Sunburst
One of the enjoyable aspects of choosing a vintage J-45 is the variety of sunburst colors on the body top.
Early 60s models often have a blackish hue around the outer edge of the body top, while many from around 1964 show faded red tones that appear more orange.
This newly arrived piece is a 1963 model, right in between those eras.
The outer edge of the body top retains a strong red hue, while the yellow tones towards the center remain, creating a very cool look.
In the 1990s, Heritage Cherry Sunburst finishes appeared on models like the J-45, Les Paul, and Les Paul Custom, and this one has a similar feel.
The pickguard is a thin, large-sized red tortoiseshell pattern, perfectly matching the body top's color.
Starting the following year, the pickguard changed to a thicker version, so finding this particular look/spec is quite rare.
The neck features a regular grip with a 43mm nut width.
The headstock angle is 17 degrees.
The bridge was changed from rosewood to ebony,
and the saddle was swapped from adjustable to straight,
allowing you to enjoy a rich, full-bodied tone with solid mid-to-low end.
For those who want to be particular about every detail, even the "face" of the J-45, or who have been searching for this specific style and look, this is a guitar you absolutely must hold in your hands.
