This model, originally released as a Southern Jumbo in natural finish, was initially known as "SJN" and eventually officially released as "Country Western." The year 1962, when this instrument was manufactured, was a transitional period. The following year, the specifications were changed to square shoulders, making this a rare example of the final round shoulder guitar.

The rounded shoulders create a soft, airy feel and an enveloping mid-low range. Chord strokes offer both fullness and clarity, while fingerstyle playing produces a dry attack with overtones steeped in time. This is the sound you'd expect from an instrument that has stood the test of time.

The thin neck shape fits comfortably in the hand, sinking naturally along with the flow of your fingers. The grip has been over-lacquered in later years, but this actually creates a touch that feels like it's sticking to your hand, giving you a sense of unity that allows you to concentrate on playing.
The bridge is equipped with a long saddle that directly receives the vibrations of the strings, producing a sound image with a clear core.

The exterior features a natural amber top that gives the impression of being over 60 years old, with delicate weather checking that spreads out like a blur, and even the texture around the pickguard and bridge speaks to the history of this instrument.

It was manufactured in the final period of the round shoulder style, and the craftsmanship and selected wood of the time make it a truly excellent piece that has remained in good condition to this day.
