The Super Jumbo was born in 1937. After the war, it was re-released as the "J-200" in 1946. The main feature of the postwar model was that the prewar model had rosewood sides and back, while the postwar model had maple sides and back (only two maple side and back models were produced as a custom order before the war). Also, in '48, natural color was introduced, the peg head became single-layer cell binding, and after '49, the body thickness increased from 4 1/2" to 4 2/3", 4 7/8" in '52, and 5" in the mid-'60s.

The Gibson Custom Shop is currently produced by the Montana Factory Team, led by master luthier Len Ferguson, and for the 100th anniversary in 1994, Len and John Walker, the custom luthier at the time, teamed up to create a new, unprecedented, and extremely luxurious flat model. The sound is bright and clear, but the depth of the sound is not as good as the other materials, but Len Ferguson knows the king of Gibson's flat tops and has the perfect sound balance. Gibson J-200 Celebrity '85 #8210558

This 90-piece limited edition was released to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Gibson's founding. Mahogany neck and Indian rosewood sides and back give this guitar a wonderful volume and core sound. The tone is different from that of the maple version, and the tightness of the tone is very attractive. Furthermore, the headstock's written logo, reminiscent of the pre-war period, and traditional-style position marks make this an anniversary model with specifications that tickle the fancy of the enthusiast. Incidentally, this model was a favorite of David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, who used it on the "Division Bell Tour.

This '91 Custom Shop "Jumbo 200" is a special item, as the serial number starts with "1991~". The flower vines, carefully crafted down to the smallest detail, bloom from the pickguard to the fingerboard and headstock on this gorgeous version. The gold sparkles on the body purfling, back centerline, soundhole, sides of the fingerboard, and headstock create an overwhelming sense of individuality and luxury, and are a milestone for the 100th anniversary editions to be released later, which will also feature many sparkle decorations. This is a Custom Shop model named "Vine" which means ivy of the vine plant. This model appears in the catalog, so it is one of the highly recognized Custom Shop models. As the name implies, it is a gorgeous version with gorgeous Avalon ivy inlays on the fingerboard. The soundhole, body purfling, and bridge are also covered with Avalon inlays, and the pickguard is lavishly decorated with hand-carved ivy. The Waverly gold engraving on the peg buttons also adds a subtle touch of luxury. The bright and clear sound from the superb curly maple is very attractive, and the L.R.
