We're unveiling for the first time the modified guitar that staff member Hoshino uses most often!

Hello, this is Hoshino from Advance Guitars.

I usually work on the acoustic floor, but actually, my main instrument is the electric guitar!

Since my main instrument has some interesting features, I thought I’d introduce it to you.

Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection 1955 Les Paul Gold Top

While the standard 1955 spec features a wrap-around bridge and two P-90 pickups, this guitar is equipped with humbucking pickups (Gibson Live Buckers).

It’s been modified to resemble Jeff Beck’s “Oxblood”!
Actually, its look is more like Tak Matsumoto of B’z’s 1955 Les Paul!

Speaking of modifications, the “Modified Guitar Contest” is back again this year!

We’re currently accepting entries!

Why not submit a creation—whether it’s a guitar, electric bass, acoustic guitar, or anything else—that reflects your ideas and passion?
Feel free to enter even if your guitar has been modified to specifications similar to mine.

The winning entries will be featured in the pages of “Guitar Magazine.”
The Custom Guitar Contest isn’t just about meticulous modifications!
It’s perfectly fine to simply bring your creative ideas to life with a free-spirited approach!

I even entered my Gibson Gold Top.

Entering is easy—just go to the special contest page and submit the required information and photos via the dedicated entry form!

We look forward to receiving your entries!
