楽器のその後の人生まで、責任を持ちたい - TC楽器 - TCGAKKI

Hello. This is Matsui, the manager of TCGAKKI.

Every day, we receive inquiries from many customers regarding their cherished instruments. Through these interactions, there is something I feel very strongly.

That is, every instrument embodies the life of its owner.

An instrument isn’t just an object; it’s a collection of time. Take, for example, vintage Gibson models or pre-CBS Fender guitars. In the market, they’re discussed in terms of age, originality, and market value.

But to their owners, they hold a meaning that cannot be measured by price alone—whether it’s a guitar they saved up and worked hard to acquire, a testament to their youth spent making music with friends, or a partner who shared life’s milestones.

That is why, before considering how much to sell for, I think about how to pass the instrument on.
Parting with an instrument isn’t the end. When considering end-of-life planning or decluttering,

“My kids don’t play it,”
“I want to avoid having it thrown away without anyone understanding its value,”
“I want to pass it on to someone who truly appreciates it”

I often hear comments like these.

I have no intention of simply taking these instruments away. I want to serve as a bridge to connect them with their next owner.

The option of consignment sales

There is also the option of a buyout, which provides immediate cash.
However, I find that consignment sales are often a better fit for those who want to be satisfied with the price, aren’t in a rush, and wish to pass their instrument on to someone who truly appreciates its value.

The key features of consignment sales are that the owner retains control over the pricing, can carefully convey the instrument’s history and story, and increases the likelihood that it will reach the right person
.

When we sell an instrument, we don’t just highlight its specs—we also share its history and the emotions tied to it. This is because these details hold significant value for the next owner as well.
My promise is this: to accurately assess the instrument’s intrinsic value, to present it honestly without exaggeration, and to take responsibility for the next owner.

Selling an instrument isn’t the end of the story. Rather, it’s the beginning of a new one. To ensure that beginning is a good one, I’ll be by your side every step of the way.

You don’t have to decide right away. While I may recommend consignment sales, I will never rush you. If you’re still undecided or just want to hear more, that’s perfectly fine. Let’s sort things out together and figure out the best approach.

Finally, the instrument you’ve cherished is undoubtedly a meaningful one. Understanding its value and carefully passing it on to the next owner—that is my responsibility as the manager of TCGAKKI.

Even if the day comes when you decide to part with it, that is not an ending—it is a moment of entrusting your feelings to the future.

When that time comes, please do not hesitate to contact us. With passion for your memories and sincerity toward your instrument, we will assist you in connecting it to its next owner.
