Hello! I'm Oda, the Bass player!
It looks like the rainy season has finally ended in Tokyo, and we’re in for a string of hot days…!
The other day, when I came to work with my Bass strapped on, my back was soaked, and I was drenched in sweat before I even started working…
To all you musicians who commute by train or on foot, let’s do our best to get through this season together!!
By the way, we’ve recently rearranged the displays on the guitar, Bass, and Effector floor at TCGAKKI!
We’ve built a mini “fortress” of guitars and Basses right at the entrance.
We also moved the Fender guitar section to the back, so now everything is grouped together and easier to browse!
Actually, we currently have over 20 Fender Custom Shop guitars in stock, so if you’re looking for a Custom Shop model, this is your chance to try out and compare plenty of them!!
I’m so jealous of all those guitars….
Fender Custom Shop basses—probably because there are fewer of them to begin with than guitars—don’t come in very often.
Since I’m one of those people who’s been using a Custom Shop Bass for a long time, I can’t help but wonder if maybe not many people are willing to part with theirs 🤔
But do you have a Bass that you’ve been thinking, “I haven’t been playing this much lately”?
It’s totally fine to just keep it around, but
haven’t you ever thought, “I’d be happy if someone else took good care of this…”?

It’s nerve-wracking to talk alone in front of the camera…
While preparing to shoot this video, I asked one of our repair technicians about the unique features of MGBass’s woodworking.
He said, “If I were told to build one this way, I’d hate it” (laughs).
It’s a construction method that’s incredibly labor-intensive, and I realized that every single detail contributes to the Bass’s appearance, playability, and sound. It reaffirmed to me just how much care and attention to detail luthier Mauricio puts into each Bass.
