ベース担当オダの日常奮闘記#1 - TC楽器 - TCGAKKI

Hello! I'm Oda, in charge of Bass.

By the way, have you heard of the NAMM SHOW?

NAMM is the world's largest musical instrument show, held in the U.S. every late January.
Its official name is the National Association of Music Merchants. It's abbreviated as NAMM.

Back in January 2024.
This year's NAMM Show was held in Anaheim, California.
Actually, Advance Guitars' Manager Inoue went there with the president!

One of the brands we encountered there was MGBass Guitars .

Flashy wood grain patterns and unconventional body shapes.
Among the countless instruments lining the NAMM Show, they stood out with a distinct presence.

Actually, our repairman, Mr. Tanaka, had been interested in these MGBass guitars for a while and said

"Go buy this for me~"

he asked Manager Inoue to run an errand for him.

And here is the Bass that Manager Inoue bought back .

MGBass Infinity Burl 4 Limited Edition NAMM24

Wow, what an impact.

This is it.

A model crafted for NAMM 2024 using back-eye burl wood.
Beyond the flashy top, it features an unprecedented body shape, wooden knobs and peg buttons... oh, and the pickups are in a PJ configuration.

Just seeing the photos sparked confusion and curiosity—my first impression was "What is this!?"

Fast forward to March 2024.

I, Oda, who had been in charge of electric guitars and amps since joining the company, was appointed to the Bass position.

(That solemn face in the thumbnail is always funny, no matter how many times I see it)

I was finally getting the hang of working at a used instrument shop.

One day, TCGAKKI Manager Matsui told me:

"Oda, you're in charge of MGBass starting today."

"Yes."

I had a vague feeling this might happen.
Being in charge of TCGAKKI's Bass means handling all Bass they deal with.

And just like that, very suddenly, I was put in charge of the project handling New's Bass, which has a workshop in America.

Of course, I won't be doing this alone. I'll be working hard alongside my team members from now on.

So,
I plan to gradually share the story of Oda's struggles handling Bass, including this MGBass project. I hope you'll enjoy reading it whenever you have a spare moment!

Oda
