Among them, the EB-1, born in 1953 as Gibson's first electric Bass, is a rare model reissued only briefly from around 1969 to 1972. Production numbers are said to be just over 400 units.
This particular instrument is an EB-1 from 1969, one of the earliest reissues. It features a simple configuration: a mahogany body, mahogany neck, and a single humbucker pickup in the front. Unlike Hofner's violinBass, its fully solid construction produces a "ground-shaking low end" as if it were equipped with a subwoofer. This overwhelming low end is something modern Basss simply cannot replicate.
Furthermore, it includes the stand bar, often missing on other models, allowing you to recreate the original standing playing style.
The weighty body produces a truly unique low end. This sound can only be experienced with the EB-1. This model is extremely rare on the market. If you're interested, now is the moment to get it.
