Explanation
Godin / A6 Ultra
Born in Canada in 1988, Godin was a brand strongly focused on the professional scene from the very beginning. "An acoustic guitar that truly works in real performance environments" The A6 Ultra is a model where that philosophy culminates in an extremely high level of refinement.
Its defining feature is Godin's unique double-chambered body structure. Rather than resonating fully like a typical solid-body acoustic, its cleverly divided internal structure preserves the nuance of natural resonance while delivering astonishing feedback resistance. Even surrounded by monitors on stage or at high volumes, players can focus entirely on their sound. That peace of mind transforms the performance itself.
Sound-wise, it features both a piezo pickup and a magnetic humbucker. The piezo captures the three-dimensional depth and airy feel characteristic of acoustic sound. Meanwhile, the humbucker provides a solid core, defined contour, and stable output.
Furthermore, two output jacks are provided, allowing for either standalone humbucker use or a three-dimensional sound created by mixing with the piezo. It possesses the versatility to switch roles with a single instrument, from acoustic-style arpeggios to cutting tones that won't get lost in a band ensemble.
Yet the controls are surprisingly simple. You can dial in your sound intuitively, without getting bogged down in complex settings. The design philosophy, honed on the gig, is clearly evident here.
Not a hybrid, but a guitar born from squarely facing the reality of the performer. It doesn't make you change to fit the guitar; it's a companion that stays true to your style.
