Explanation
Gibson / 1974–75 GOSPEL
[Demo Video]
"Beautifully arched maple"
While the 70s are characterized by square-shouldered bodies and double-X bracing, this unique instrument features a maple round back.
The double X-bracing, combining two X-bracing patterns, imparts a distinct character different from conventional X-bracing. You can see the ball end holes in the diamond-shaped bridge plate area are reinforced. This reinforcement, made of spruce, addresses wear that occurs during daily playing, tuning, and string changes. This reinforcement also contributes to stable tuning and improved tone.
The body shows numerous performance marks, dents, and weather checking, evidence of extensive use. This adds character, a testament to its well-played history.
The pickguard is a thin, large-sized type seen on J-45s and J-50s up to 1963, a characteristic of the 70s.
The sharp horned headstock shape unique to the 70s, the Gibson modern logo, the 3-screw 1-piece truss rod cover, and the cool silk-screen dove design specific to GOSPEL are all great features.
[Staff Comment: Hoshino]
The volume and attack characteristic of a maple round-back body enhance its coolness. The slim neck enhances playability.

[Repair/Modification History/Replaced Parts/Appearance Condition, etc.] ※As this is a used/vintage item, the information provided is based on our inspection and what we could determine. Please understand this in advance. -Around the soundhole, there are picking marks, scratches, dents, and buckle marks from playing. -There is some lifting on the pickguard (starting from the 1st string), but it does not affect strength or integrity, including cracks, so you can use it with confidence. - The string holes on the bridge plate have been reinforced due to wear. This improvement ensures stable tuning and allows string vibration to transfer effectively to the body. - A crack repair is present on the back of the headstock (below the 6th string peg). It has been repaired with adhesive, so you can use it with confidence. - The presence of Velcro residue on the neck block and double-sided tape residue on the body side (inside) indicates the pickup was installed and played. - Saddle has been replaced. - A strap pin has been added to the neck heel.
[Playing Condition] - Plays well with no muffled notes or buzzing. - String height at 12th fret: 6th string side 2.2mm, 1st string side 2.0mm - Nut overhang: approx. 3.0mm to 3.5mm
