Vintage semi-acoustic guitar equipped with low-impedance pickups
While the Les Paul itself was released as Lester William Polsfath's signature model, this model further bears the Les Paul Signature name.
Released in 1973 and discontinued by 1978, it's a short-lived and rare model. This semi-acoustic guitar features the low-impedance pickups Les Paul himself favored in his later years and used on the Les Paul Recording.
It was also a model developed with the involvement of Bill Lawrence, renowned as a pickup maker. It features a three-position impedance switch knob (50Ω, 200Ω, 500Ω) and a phase in/out switch knob. Furthermore, it is equipped with two outputs: a low-impedance output and a high-impedance output.
The unique cutaway body shape is another charming aspect of this guitar. While its use differs from the intended purpose, switching the impedance allows you to enjoy sound variations, enabling owners to create their own original sound.
With only about 1,378 Gold Top models shipped, it's extremely rare on the market. It's the kind of guitar that sparks conversation among fellow guitar enthusiasts—"Hey, do you know about this guitar?"—making it a real showpiece.
