⬇️Uncovering the History and Complete Story of Gibson's Rare Colors!!

=============================================================
This is a late 1960s model from the Kalamazoo factory, where Gibson acoustic guitars were also produced.
Epiphone / FT-79 Cherry Red
This particular instrument features the rare "Cherry Red" color, produced only briefly for just three years between 1967 and 1969, just like Gibson's.
Cherry Red exhibits unique fading patterns over time, giving each piece its own distinct character.
I find it a wonderful color that lets you sense the history each instrument has lived through.
This particular piece boasts a beautiful pale reddish-brown hue, with a rich luster and depth, making it a truly exceptional, commanding specimen.

Featuring a bolt-on pickguard, upper bout adjustable bridge, wood saddle, and round shoulders from the final production period, this is a rare specimen.

We happened to have a J-45 Cherry Red from the same year for comparison.
It's fascinating how, despite being made in the same factory with the same wood materials and nearly identical design, the sound differs so distinctly from other Gibsons of the same era.

Of course, the longer scale length compared to the J-45 is a major factor, but this particular instrument has a characteristically rustic, woody tone. That said, it delivers a genuine vintage sound.
It's a well-known anecdote that the Beatles played "Yesterday," arguably the most famous song using the Texan, in drop E tuning. Playing G chords on this instrument in drop E tuning lets you experience "that" sound firsthand.
Epiphone remains an indispensable brand supporting acoustic guitar players worldwide today, carrying on the spirit of New York craftsmen.
Experiencing a page from that history is truly precious.
