Martin Specialist

Store Manager: Inoue

Born in Tokyo, raised in Osaka
After graduating from university, I initially joined a food manufacturer, but
my deep desire to be involved in music led me to choose the path of musical instrument sales.
The acoustic guitar is a wonderful instrument that not only enriches songs but also adds color to everyday life.
The songs you played back then, the times you sang together with others – these moments become deeply etched memories.
Among them, I believe Martin is a manufacturer that has delivered such moments to people all over the world.
Its history is incredibly long, and its structure and brand journey are full of discoveries.
While commanding an overwhelming presence as "the guitar as a tool,"
its ability to delight in other ways is surely a charm unique to Martin.

Martin's History and Appeal

Within the limited framework of acoustic guitars, many people have been captivated by Martin's sound and design, recognizing its value and nurturing its culture.
Its very journey is recounted as something special.

Tracing Martin's Great History | From Founding to Modern Times:

Martin's journey began in 1833 when C.F. Martin I, who trained under master craftsman Stauffer, emigrated from Germany to the United States. In the 1840s, he established X-bracing and promoted the standardization of body sizes. In the 1910s, he created the Dreadnought, and in the 1930s, he introduced the 14-fret joint. These innovations became the foundation not only for Martin, but for many other brands, and are still passed down today as traditions built up over many years.

Why does Martin continue to fascinate people?:

The reason Martin continues to captivate people lies in its reliable craftsmanship and the traditions and evolution cultivated over its long history. This attitude has been passed down through generations, inspiring not only the makers but also the owners to take a deep interest in the structure and specifications, and to want to study them. As symbolized by the Japanese folk scene of the 1970s, a unique culture has developed alongside the performers, and it continues to garner strong support in the contemporary music scene.

This is Martin! Essential models and their features you should know:

The D-45 was born in 1933 as the top-of-the-line Dreadnought model.Production ceased in 1942, but after its revival in 1968, it has established an unshakeable position as Martin's flagship model. The appearance and tone created by carefully selected materials and dazzling decorations are the ideal image of an acoustic guitar. Even if the sound of the D-45 is different for each person, the longing for it surely lives on in their hearts.
