TCGAKKI Sales Staff Wanted
Currently, we are not hiring sales staff
Work is a major event that profoundly impacts your life. We're truly grateful you're interested in working at a music store. However, we understand the decision to turn your passion into a career comes with many worries and uncertainties.
I still vividly remember the anxieties I felt when I was considering a career change to a music store myself.
Many people wonder, "I want to work at a music store, but what exactly would I be doing?" So, I'd like to give you an idea of what it's like to work at this TCGAKKI group.
To briefly explain the job duties, the main responsibilities involve customer service related to buying and selling instruments, handling mail-order sales, and performing associated tasks like product photography, web listings, and social media updates.
Our job is to help customers enhance their musical lives through buying and selling instruments.
I'm worried about music stores having sales quotas, where failing to meet them leads to pay cuts or employees being forced to buy products themselves (self-sacrificing sales tactics)...
Surprisingly, many people seem to feel this way. I was actually worried about it myself when changing jobs.
But rest assured, the TCGAKKI Group doesn't do that.
Of course, as a company, we set goals and working hard to achieve them is essential. However, we never pressure employees into self-destructive sales tactics to meet those targets.
I also worried that working with instruments might make me dislike them... but that was an unnecessary concern.
My senior colleagues talk about instruments constantly, even outside of work, and you can really tell they love them. Plus, the number of instruments in my room keeps steadily increasing.
I think there's a common perception that working at a music store means few days off and lots of overtime.
I've actually heard from an acquaintance who works at a music store that overtime is a given, days off are hard to come by, and the reality is tough—working every day during the New Year holidays for the first-day sales.
But at our TCGAKKI, overtime is almost nonexistent.
We prioritize "finishing work within the allotted time." Every staff member plans their day assuming they'll leave at the end of their shift at 8:20 PM.
While there are rare instances where overtime is requested for events or photo shoots that can't be handled during regular hours, it's uncommon. In fact, if you stay late without permission, a senior staff member might scold you, saying, "Go home already!"
We schedule shifts so everyone gets two days off per week: Wednesdays (our regular day off) plus one assigned day per staff member. We typically get four days off during the year-end and New Year period. It's probably unusual for a music store to have the year-end holidays off.
I'm always thrilled to be able to go to the first shrine visit of the year with my family every New Year's, and each staff member really values their personal time.
Many people worry that they won't even be hired without specialized knowledge or experience with musical instruments. However, what we seek is not knowledge or experience, but individuals who approach the job seriously and can adapt flexibly as part of a team.
Knowledge is necessary, but time will solve that. Senior staff will teach you from the ground up, and we have a robust training program for customer service, so please rest assured. I actually joined without any experience and learned from there.
Of course, experienced individuals are also welcome. If you're currently working at a competitor and considering a career move, feel free to consult with us. You'll likely be surprised at how different things can be when you change companies.
We aim to "boost your life with excitement and smiles" by delivering instruments that help customers achieve their dreams!
