Is the pay low when you turn your passion into a job?

Working Hours and Overtime

Even if you hear "repair specialist at a used/vintage specialty store," you might not quite picture what the job entails.
While called a repair specialist, you might feel uneasy thinking it's half sales work or you'll be assigned multiple roles...
However, the job at "TC-TUNE" is "creating TCGAKKI products."
Every instrument sold at TCGAKKI undergoes repair, adjustment, and inspection by TC-TUNE. Though we're called repair specialists, our work extends far beyond basic instrument repair.
We are a dedicated department that prepares instruments to meet the exacting standards required for sale as "products from a specialist used and vintage store."
Of course, we also repair instruments belonging to customers who utilize TCGAKKI.It is precisely because we possess the expertise to prepare instruments for sale in a specialty shop that we can repair and adjust our customers' instruments to such a high standard.
Thanks to the high quality of TC-TUNE's repairs and adjustments, our sales staff can confidently recommend instruments to customers. Furthermore, when purchasing instruments from customers, it is because TC-TUNE exists that our staff can confidently offer high purchase prices. We believe the true reward of TC-TUNE's work lies in providing peace of mind to both customers and staff.
This is an experience unique to TC-TUNE, the repair division of TCGAKKI and Advance Guitars, a used and vintage specialist handling over 2,500 transactions annually.
It's an experience unattainable by sales/repair staff at major music stores or employees at individual workshops.

Is the pay low when you turn your passion into a job?

I want a job working with my favorite instrument! But haven't you heard that "doing what you love means lower pay"?
Even in the music industry, you often see job postings saying "turn your passion into your job" or "make a living doing what you love." Yet, relying solely on "what you love" to make a living might feel a bit unsettling.
At TC-TUNE, we believe that "making your passion your job is a given, but making a 'living' from that passion" is equally important. Accepting instability just because "it's your passion" means you have to endure sacrifices. Eventually, that might turn your passion into something you dislike. That would be truly sad.
Personally, I've been able to make a living through repair work, get married, and start a family. Because I don't have to compromise on my livelihood, I've become more proactive in making various efforts and gaining experiences, which has allowed me to accomplish much more in my work.
TCGAKKIFor the company as a whole, the idea that "it's unstable because you're doing what you love" leads to a narrowing path. It becomes difficult to attract talented people, and growth as a company becomes unlikely.
We pursue sustainable profits and grow as an entire company every day to make "living by doing what you love" possible.
If you want to "live by doing what you love" as a repair technician, please contact us. The easiest way is via our official LINE or the chat button at the bottom right of our website. We look forward to your application.

Working Hours and Overtime

Don't you get the impression that working at a music store means few days off and lots of overtime?
According to a friend who works at a major music store chain, they have few days off and lots of overtime, and sometimes even work from New Year's Day...
However, TC-TUNE is different. Our approach is fundamentally different. "The most important thing in work is 'planning and preparation'." Finishing work within the allotted time is what earns you recognition as the most capable employee.
Furthermore, they emphasize that "the last 30 minutes of each workday should be spent planning for the next day." This too is preparation for the next day. Rather than dragging work out, they focus on working efficiently and well to finish on time. Then, when it's time to rest, they rest thoroughly. This is the TC-TUNE way.
Actual working hours end at 8:20 PM, so you can catch the train from Shin-Okubo Station as early as 8:30 PM. This timing allows you to make it to the supermarket near the station before closing, making meal prep easier.
Furthermore, TCGAKKI as a whole closes for the year-end and New Year holidays from December 31st to January 3rd.You can fully utilize your paid leave. Our company culture deeply values employees who finish their work within the allotted time. This approach is quite rare in the musical instrument industry.
If you work efficiently, maintain a good work-life balance, and prioritize your personal time, we encourage you to inquire. The easiest way to contact us is via our official LINE or the chat feature at the bottom right of our website. We look forward to your application.
