How many of our peers know about us?
Some may have the impression that we are "a second-hand shop in Shin-Okubo" or "something you see on Youtube these days. We are a second-hand musical instrument store that does what we want in a modest way (laughs).

This year marks the 35th anniversary of our establishment. Like many other music stores, we are a group of people who love musical instruments, and we are crazy about satisfying their curiosity and having fun ourselves. As a regular project, the "Modified Guitar Contest" hosted by our store is also very popular, and we hope that we can help revitalize the musical instrument scene as a whole while providing our customers with enjoyment at the same time.

The band boom has long since passed, and even when watching music programs at the end of the year, there are very few scenes of musical instruments on TV screens. Today, with the ability to create music with a single cell phone, young people are more interested in singing and dancing, but not as passionate about electric guitars as they used to be.

I am sure that many music stores and live music clubs feel the same way. It is not uncommon to hear such comments as, "We don't get many young customers," or "The bands that play here are all regulars, and their numbers are gradually decreasing due to the aging of the bands.
If this situation continues, electric guitars will be perceived as "a hobby for old people.

In the midst of such anxious days, we came up with an idea. We thought that the only thing we could do was to convey this message to everyone: "Musical instrument stores are fun. The music scene itself is active. New and talented musicians are appearing one after another, and there is a battle for tickets to popular artists' live shows. The high school band contest we recently assisted was overflowing with excitement. But they don't go to music stores. They buy online and learn online. So their purchasing power is complete.

When we invited these high school students to our store, they walked around the store again and again, their eyes shining, and after staying for several hours, they left satisfied. It was an experience that made us realize that this was what we wanted to convey to them.

Now is not the time for music stores to be rivals with each other. The threat to us is Meccari and the apps that will come next. I believe that the customers of music stores are important customers, no matter where they are located, and that increasing the number of such customers, even if only one, will lead to the success of the entire musical instrument industry.
