Fender Custom Shop: A cut above the rest, built without skimping on costs. Although 1987 is said to mark the Custom Shop’s debut, even now—more than 35 years later—this legendary workshop continues to captivate and fulfill the requests of countless musicians, producing numerous legendary instruments through the use of premium woods and a construction process that spares no expense or time.
This 2023 model is a Precision Special, combining a Precision body with a Jazz neck. It features a PJ configuration with a P-type pickup in the front and a J-type pickup in the rear. It features a 50s-style design with a one-piece maple neck and anodized pickguard, paired with an ash body. The bridge is fitted with a Fender-original modern-style bridge, making this a hybrid model that blends vintage and modern elements.
The powerful, punchy midrange of the front pickup, combined with the defined tone of the rear pickup, creates a more three-dimensional sound. The neck features a Jazz Bass shape, ensuring excellent playability. With a PJ configuration delivering a rich, three-dimensional sound and a relic finish that exudes presence, this is a model truly worthy of the Custom Shop!
