This instrument is a 5-string JB-type with a light aged finish. The Candy Apple Red body, featuring a competition stripe, displays natural weather checking. The balance between the cute matching headstock and the aged finish's subtle sophistication creates an exquisite look.
In addition to the orthodox 2-volume, 1-tone controls, pushing/pulling the tone knob switches the pickup configuration between series and parallel.
The Low-B string's tone was impressively clear. It delivers uniform nuance across all strings from 1 to 5, so the Low-B string never sounds muffled. Its appeal lies in sounding with the same texture as a 4-string passive JB.
Furthermore, switching to series connection significantly boosts the sound pressure. While remaining passive, it delivers the core and punch demanded on stage and in recording sessions, making its high popularity among professional musicians entirely understandable.
