Japan's World-Class Original Shape Guitar

The PE1500 was developed by renowned luthier Nobuaki Hayashi, also known for his work on the Atlantia, and the Aria staff, and was released in October 1977.

This PE-R80 is a model from the period when it was manufactured by the now-defunct Matsumoku. The body is made of three layers of maple/mahogany/maple machined on both sides, and features a beautiful flowing arched top and back. The neck joint is deeply inserted and screwed from the bottom of the pickups. The smooth heel-less cut also makes it highly playable like a through-neck. The laminated body gives the guitar a strong attack and a fat mid-range sound that is still usable even after more than 40 years. The pickups can be coil-tapped, making this model usable in a wide range of genres.
