The 151A series has had many unique body shapes in the past, but this new model in the 151A series, the 151A-SP, has a TL-style control plate and a JM-like body shape.

As with the other models in the series, there are almost no pieces with the same specifications, making this a truly "once in a lifetime" instrument.

This SP bass has a single coil like a Telecaster bass, and the controls are also TL's 1Volume, 1Tone, but it also has a 3-way selector that was not available on the Telecaster bass.

The 3-way selector has the usual controls in the rear position, tone through in the center, and a so-called preset tone with a coil between the PU and the front. The 3-way selector is reminiscent of the Esquire.

This kind of playfulness is one of the features of the 151A series.

It is a style of bass that seems to exist but never existed before!
