This model is one of the SKB series, characterized by its slightly smaller body.
It has a smaller body with a shorter horn than the SKB3006, and is thought to be based on the body shape of the SKB5006.
Beautifully grained quilted burl maple is used for the top and Spanish cedar for the back, and the neck is a bolt-on construction with a maple/purpleheart 3-piece. The fingerboard is fret-lined cocobolo.
Both pickups and preamp are Bartolini. Volume, balancer, and 3-band EQ controls.
The sound is clear but with the warmth of dry wood, and the fretless, wood composition, and electronics work very well together.
