Gibson / 2003 Southern Jumbo
Gibson's popular round-shoulder model, Southern Jumbo. This model is positioned as a higher-end model of the J-45, which is also very popular. The double parallelogram position marks, cell binding on the fingerboard, and maple body trim create a sense of originality and luxury.
This time we have a 2003 model. It has a large pickguard and 20 frets, scalloped X-bracing, an upper belly bridge with short saddles, and GOTOH open back tuners.
The neck is thin and slightly angular at the edges. It has a fast response and a bouncy, bright sound.
There are scratches, dents, and weather checks commensurate with its age, but it has been disassembled and cleaned after arrival. It has been serviced, inspected, and adjusted including saddle replacement for comfortable playing.
Scratches from picking around the soundhole are also very nice. Recommended for those who want to use it with gusto.
