Gibson / 2002 Southern Jumbo

The "Southern Jumbo" was introduced in 1942 as the successor to the J-55 and J-35, along with the J-45, and was the pinnacle of Gibson flat-top guitars at the time. It is famous for being used by Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams, and is also a highly popular model used by top musicians such as Masayoshi Yamazaki and Shogo Hamada in Japan.
The crown inlay on the head, double paragram position inlay, and binding on the fingerboard give it the atmosphere of a high-end model.

This model was made in 2002 with scalloped bracing, which gives it a muddy feel and makes fingerpicking responsive and comfortable. It has a rich, sparkling, all-around sound that is easy to use regardless of genre.

The paint job is glossy and has a different texture from recent models, even if they are from the 2000s. The body and head tops are also covered with weather-checking, giving the guitar a vintage look. It may be difficult to find one with this much style.
