Stratocaster made by Fred Stuart, the first master builder!
Fender Custom Shop was established in 1987 as Fender's premier section.
Fred Stuart was asked by Custom Shop at the time of its establishment.
Fred has worked with Gene Baker and J.W. Black on artist models and vintage reissue models, and has also worked on guitars for famous artists such as Jimmy Page and Billy Gibbons.
The Stratocaster in this shipment is equipped with Fender Gold Les Sensor/Dually pickups, a two-point tremolo bridge, and Sperzel locking pegs.
The neck is made of maple with a lot of flame and a slab rosewood fingerboard. The body is made of ash and has a counterbore for a Mid Booster and batteries.
The cavity is coated with conductive paint, and although it is not clear whether this is a new specification or not, it is a highly expandable body counterbore.
It has a crisp tone characteristic of the Fender Gold Lace Sensor with a little airiness, and you can feel the warmth of the sound in clean to crunchy tones.
The rear position Fender Gold Lace Sensor Dually has the mellowness of a P-90, with a warm hum that compensates for the Gold Lace Sensor's modest power.
A mini-switch between the tones allows the Dually to be output as a regular single coil.
The neck is a thin C-shape, making it a modern Strat.
Please experience the first Master Builder's Strat!
