Premium 1968 Dove Natural Customized with Double Pickguard
Gibson / 1968 Dove Double Pickguard
This guitar has a rock 'n' roll look and is a unique piece.
Speaking of Gibson double pickguards, you can see Bob Dylan playing a J-200 Sunburst with a double pickguard on stage at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, although it was a different model. This is another premium model that was popular with country musicians and the rock scene because of its spectacular appearance, including the Everly Brothers.
The one we have just received is the rare Dove double pickguard, which is one of the rarest of all. The thick tortoiseshell pickguard is decorated with the iconic "dove" in shiny pearl, and the floral pattern is also in red and green. The two pieces are placed symmetrically on both sides, harmonizing beautifully.
The bridge is equipped with a Tune-O-Matic, which is unique to the 60's, and there is plenty more to see besides the pickguard. These styles are exquisitely matched with the natural color with checkered finish, which is very cool and full of rock taste.
The neck is a late 60's narrow and thin shape. The sound is very thick and has a great propulsive force. It matches well with the way of playing with a sense of power. Both in looks and sound, this is a rock 'n' roll instrument.
