Gibson / 1967 J-45 Cherry Sunburst
Cherry Sunburst color with reddish tint and Gotoh pegs,
This is one of the "1967 J-45s".
In the same year, J-45 in Tobacco Sunburst color, famous for Takuro Yoshida's use, was also resurrected, and the look of this guitar is also representative of this year's model, which was changed from the Cherry Sunburst color that tended to fade easily until 1966.
The pegs are also unique to this period.
The open back with shiny plating is impressive, and there is a JAPAN stamp on the back. These are made by Gotoh, a leading parts manufacturer in Japan.
It is very impressive to think that parts made in Japan were used in Gibson's J-45, one of the leading guitar brands in the U.S. and one of Gibson's most famous models from the late 1960s.
The sound has the crispness of a narrow neck with an adjustable bridge, and a very pleasant, thick, comped mid-bass tone. This is a great instrument to play with strokes.
