Vintage Jazzmaster with a thick, grippy neck and a sticky sound that makes you want to touch it for hours on end.
The first Jazzmaster with a rosewood fingerboard was released in 1958 as the top-of-the-line model in the lineup at that time. The Jazzmaster had the same 21 frets and 25.5" scale neck as the Stratocaster, an offset waist contour body, and large soapbar-type pickups that produced an atmospheric sound with a mellow, shimmering vibrato like that of a Bigsby, The production of this instrument was discontinued around 1980, but it was re-produced in the late 90's due to the support of musicians of the emerging grunge and alternative music in the 90's. This 1963 Jazzmaster was the first Jazzmaster made in Japan. This 1963 Jazzmaster is a model with a round rosewood fingerboard. The roundboard is a fretboard with the joining surface of the maple neck and the rosewood fretboard along the rounded edge, which is the specification from the middle of 1962. Small head and clay dots were used until around 1964. The body is refinished, but the paint has peeled off with use over time, giving it a stately appearance. This is a rare and usable Jazzmaster that will make you think, "It was expensive, but I'm glad I bought it back then.
