Vintage 1959 BYRDLAND with original PAF
The Byrdland, Gibson's top-of-the-line model, is a triple-threat instrument with luxurious looks, high playability, and a beautiful sound.
Byrdland was introduced in 1955. The L5, Gibson's top-of-the-line full-acoustic model, was introduced in 1955.BassThe thin-bodied thinline body and short scale were adopted for the L5. It has the same 17" wide body as the L5, but the thin body is 2 1/4" thick for comfortable holding. The neck is slim, with little taper, and the neck scale is short at 23 1/2", making it very comfortable to play. The string height can be set low, allowing for a fine-tuned setting to suit your playing style.
The sound is deep and sweet, perfect for jazz, jazz blues, and blues. It is also famous among rock and blues guitarists such as Eric Clapton and Ted Nugent, and among jazz guitarists such as David T. Walker.
It is a 1959 Birdland equipped with the original PAF, and while the body itself is well built and has a beautiful sound, the original PAF sound is layered and has a rich overtone structure, and while it has a strong core, it is not loud to the ear, and a beautiful, expansive sound can be heard from the first note. The sound has a strong core but is not noisy to the ear, and has a beautiful, expansive sound.
