　この1999年製Gibson Custom Shop Histric Collection 1959 Les Paul Reissueは1959年オリジナルのレスポールサウンバーストの発売から40周年を記念して、見た目や塗装など仕様の変更を見直し、さらに完成度を増したレスポール・リーシューです。

　1959年のオリジナル・レスポールに採用されていたロング・テノン・ネックジョイントを当時の製法で再現し、現振動をダイレクトにボディに伝え素晴らしい鳴りを引き出しています。ヘッドトップの突板に柊を使用する等、拘りを随所に感じる造り。良質なマホガニー材から生み出されるサウンドはミドルに厚みがあり全てのポジションで使えるサウンド。リアポジションではトレブリーながら薄さを感じない、しっかりとした強さを持ち、センターでは小気味良くコロコロしたアタックでカッティングにも良く合います、フロントポジションは太く厚みがありソロパートでも実力を発揮。音の広がりと深さを感じるサウンドで、ヴィンテージを凌駕するレスポール・リーシュ-モデルです。
