Edo period kotsuzumi (small tabor) old body with shell maki-e (shell maki-e)

[Outline]
An old kotsuzumi (small drum) body. Maki-e on the body is from the Edo period. The tsutsutsu itself is thought to date back even further. The inside of the drum is decorated with eleven planes. The leather is old leather (nushido) from the Showa period onward. The body weighs 351 grams. Comes with a black lacquered paulownia outer box and inner box.

[Condition.]
One of the attached leathers needs to be repaired because one of the thousand tetsuji has been cut off. There are some parts where maki-e has fallen off.

[Features]
Maki-e is so called "Shells and Shellfish". Various kinds of shells and starfish are decorated. The exquisite planing on the surface is also beautiful.
