The long-awaited germanium transistor version of RoShi Pedals' long-standing model based on the 1960's fuzz face! Serial #055
Constructed from a carefully selected combination of several vintage transistors that were tested. In addition to the volume and gain controls, the SHAVE control is very unique and allows you to adjust the bass of the fuzz sound.Fully open to the left, it is equivalent to the original fuzz face.Turned to the right, the bass is reduced and the gain is reduced slightly. This is very useful because the original fuzz face can be saturated and incompatible with some guitars (humbuckers, etc.) used, or you have to squeeze the hand of the guitar to get the sound out when the pedal is turned on. Also, by cutting the bass when setting a wah in front of this pedal, the wah works much better. The sound and usability together make it a fuzz pedal that is truly suited for real-world use! It has a raw, realistic taste like germanium, and the gain is powerful at full ten, but when set one step forward, it has a moderate fuzz sound, which is unbearable!
〜The following is from the manufacturer's website
The warmth and softness unique to germanium transistors has been used to recreate the germanium fuzz face sound that RoShi Pedals envisions. The carefully selected Japanese germanium transistor responds linearly to the volume and tone of the guitar. Two types of transistors were used after testing a number of transistors. Many Japanese germanium transistors have a straightforward sound quality, and one type of transistor lacks tenacity and glassy highs. By crossing two types of transistors with different characteristics, we expressed the sound that RoShi Pedals aimed for.
When using germanium transistors, it is inevitable that there will be variations in sound. The SMUG FACE Ge also has individual differences in sound. There are differences in the sound when the gain is high or the volume of the guitar is turned down. However, each guitar is sound-checked and adjusted when it is assembled. There are no so-called "outliers" such as a guitar with no sustain. Each one is finished to a sound that you will think is wonderful.
You can control the sound of the fuzz face from a glassy clean sound to a biting crunchy sound at your fingertips. The Shave knob can be used to reduce the bass at the input stage, allowing you to adjust the sound while retaining the biting highs. This pedal is a must-have for those who like Japanese germanium fuzz faces, as well as for those who are looking for a controllable overdrive pedal with germanium transistor texture.

About power supply
Power is supplied by pointing the jack to IN. We recommend the use of batteries whenever possible, and the DC Jack is attached to use an external battery snap (sold separately). Although it can be used with a power supply, we have not provided any circuitry to prevent noise or protection circuits from the power supply. Please check the electrodes before using the DC Jack. If you have any parts for the product, we will accept the repair. However, if the entire board is replaced, the full amount will be charged.
