This is a Guyatone auto wah made in Japan in the '70s, which is no longer available!

When used weakly for lead playing, it produces a compressor-like effect with a nice, grainy attack. When set to a setting that responds to the strength of the picking with the drive held down, the core of the sound is emphasized like a comp, and percussive riffs are impactful. The unique muddiness of the sound has a distinctive flavor when playing chords. Compared to today's auto-wahs, the sound of this model may be lacking, but it is a very interesting model to learn about the history of the time.
