Description

The historical masterpiece of thick tenor trombone, Elkhart Cohn era 8HR

[Overview].
Cohn thick tenor trombone 8HR. 8.5" two-piece rose brass bell. 13.89mm bore narrow slide. Outer slide: gold brass. Mouthpiece receiver with tapered shank. Lacquered finish. 1968. Accessories: lightweight semi-hard case (MAX by PROTEC/new).
The receiver of the mouthpiece seems to have been modified from Remington shank to tapered shank specification. (The mouthpiece goes in deeper than usual.)

[Condition.]
Small dent repair marks on the bell flare and tuning tube. Lacquer paint has fallen on the gooseneck, tuning tube, and slide barrel. There are minor scratches and scuffs. There is a part of the plating on one side of the stocking of the slide inner. All parts have been serviced and inspected.
The slide barrel is a traditional CONN specification with a spring in the back of the barrel.

[Features]
One of the historical standard models of American trombone. The full, soft tone with a dense sound that combines far-reachingness is one-of-a-kind. It is not a Remington shank, so the feel and tone may differ slightly from the original, but you can fully enjoy the charm of the Elkhart Cone.
