The WaveBird 5 Strings is made of a flamboyant Buckeye burl for the top and walnut for the back. It has a maple/wenge/mahogany 5-piece through-neck construction.
The fretboard is made of bird's eye maple with a solid grain.
Aguilar DCB pickups and Aguilar OBP3 preamp are installed,
Controls are volume, PU balancer, and 3-band EQ (boost) (push/pull bandwidth selection for the middle).
With a walnut body and maple fingerboard, this guitar has a clean and clear sound with a wraparound bass due to the single-cut body shape.
As is the case with other MGBass models, despite the single-cut, the low-B string does not blur the contours of the sound, and you can feel a firm sense of pitch, allowing you to play phrases in an ensemble without letting the low notes get buried.
The EQ on this unit is boost only, but I have the impression that the simple control is not lost in sound makeup!
I think this is a look that will be of interest to high-end lovers.
