Art Esparza joined Fender in 1997, was selected as the seventh member of the Custom Shop in 1988, the beginning of the Custom Shop era, and was promoted to Master Builder in 1994. He worked on guitars for Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Ernie Isley, and many other famous musicians until he left Fender in 2004 due to ill health.
Among them, Ernie Isley's ZEAL and Buddy Guy's polka dot pattern Stratocaster were iconic guitars of their musicians, and they produced guitars that attracted attention for their visual impact.

This Custom Clapton Stratocaster by Art Esparza also features a rare metallic green coloring. The beautiful flame maple neck is carefully machined and boasts high playing performance. The early Gold Lace Sensor pickups, TBX control, and mid-boost are all Eric Clapton's specialties.
The perfection of the Stratocaster is well documented, as it is the only Stratocaster that Eric Clapton himself was involved with.

He is currently working as a professional saxophone player. Art Esparza is a guitar builder by day, and his knowledge and skills are outstanding.
