Martin / 1979 D-35
In the 1960s, export restrictions on Brazilian rosewood made it difficult to obtain the two-piece back material for dreadnought models.
Therefore, a three-piece back model was developed that could be made without large pieces of wood, and the Martin D-35 was introduced in 1965.
The D-35 has been used by various artists, including Rory Gallagher and Takuro Yoshida, Kenji Endo, and Tadahide Yoshikawa in Japan, and is also known as the favorite instrument of Iruka.
This particular model was made in 1979 and is equipped with Schaller pegs.
The top of the body has a withered color and is well-checked, giving it a very vintage appearance.
It is said that the D-35 has "less bass than the D-28" and "more cohesive" when compared to the D-28 as its characteristics, and you can actually feel this when you compare the two.
Among them, the characteristic of this unit is the clear outline and the sense of separation of the chords.
When played gently, it has a beautiful sound that only a Martin can produce, but when played with an image of a storyteller, it is powerful, yet the sound is exquisite and balanced without being disconnected.
