Introduced in 1968, the Telecaster Bass was Fender's first reissue model, a reproduction of the Original Precision Bass introduced in 1951.
It has a maple 1-piece neck, back-threaded 2-way saddle (nickel after '54), and single coil pickups, but the pegs are paddle pegs from this period, and the pickup bobbins are gray bobbins instead of black.
The Paisley Red Telecaster Bass manufactured in 1968 was produced with the "Paisley Red" and "Blue Flower" Telecaster basses only in 1968 and 1969 to reflect the "Flower Movement" and "Psychedelic" boom in the U.S. in the late 60's. The "Paisley Red" and "Blue Flower" basses were produced in the same year as the 1968 Telecaster Bass. The "Paisley Red" and "Blue Flower" Telecaster basses were produced in 1968 and 1969.
As the name suggests, the top and back of the body are covered with paisley-patterned wallpaper, and clear paint is applied over the wallpaper to improve storage.
Normally, the Telecaster Bass has an ash body like the Original Precision Bass, but this Telecaster Bass is made of alder.
The pickup cover, bridge cover, finger rests, and hard case from those days are still there, and the pickups and pots are also original.
The nut and frets have been replaced.
The fingerboard and neck grip have been refinished.
There are some peeling of the paint, but all of them are proof that the guitar has been played well, and even though it is a single coil, the sound is very fat and you can enjoy the sticky mid-low range.
Although it is different from the standard Fender models such as Jazz Bass and Precision Bass, you can feel the Fender sound of the 60's from the slab alder body, and it is impressive that it has a solid "usable sound".
