[ Features]
Within Yamaha's Xeno series of large-bore tenor bass trombones, the OR series—featuring open-wrap and reverse tuning—is specifically designed for intermediate to advanced players performing in orchestras and wind ensembles.
The combination of a 220mm single-piece yellow brass bell and wide-wrap slide produces a large-scale resonance. The reverse-style main and F tubing, along with the newly designed Balanced Response rotor, achieve an extremely smooth playing feel with no hesitation even during B♭—F key changes.
This instrument is a tuned-up version of the first-generation OR series introduced in 2010, incorporating ideas from the later flagship model YSL-825.The detachable mouthpipe was deliberately changed to a fixed type, and the slide end crook was changed from nickel silver to yellow brass. Furthermore, the main tuning slide and F slide feature gold brass parts identical to those on the 825. The result is a sound with a bright, open resonance characteristic of the yellow brass bell as its core, enhanced with greater articulation and depth. This creates a rich, expressive sound that can be effortlessly controlled from pp to ff.
This is the "serious Xeno" that can stand toe-to-toe with international manufacturers on orchestral and concert band stages. We invite you to experience it for yourself.
