[Features]
In the world of jazz trombones, this LT16M is a Buck standard model that has long shared popularity with the King 3B. Despite its narrow bore, it features a surprisingly wide 12.93mm slide bore, resulting in remarkably smooth air intake. Yet, thanks to its nickel silver lightweight slide, it offers quick response and sharp attack.
This instrument is a 1978 model, a pre-vintage piece bearing the CORP. stamp on the bell. Its appearance is beautiful, showing almost no signs of use. At first glance, it resembles the New model, but playing it reveals a sound world apart from recent versions of the same model. It delivers the clear articulation and dense sound characteristic of this era, with a solid core.
It projects brightly without sounding lightweight. Even in fast passages, the contours remain defined, delivering presence whether soloing or in the section—truly the quintessential "jazz tenor trombone." Moreover, this instrument was purchased New by its first owner and stored in its case for many years, maintaining a condition unimaginable for an instrument nearly 50 years old.
'Looks almost New, sounds distinctly vintage. '
An LT16M with such well-preserved conditions doesn't come along often.
