RoShi Pedals' flagship model, based on the 1960s Fuzz Face, is finally here in a highly anticipated germanium transistor version!
It's built from a carefully selected combination of vintage transistors tested from many options. Alongside the Volume and Gain controls, the SHAVE control is very unique, allowing you to adjust the bass in the fuzz sound. Fully open to the left, it matches the original Fuzz Face. Turning it clockwise reduces the low end and slightly lowers the gain. This is incredibly useful because the original Fuzz Face often saturates poorly depending on the guitar (like humbuckers), or requires you to roll back the guitar volume when the pedal is on for the sound to cut through. Furthermore, setting a wah pedal before this unit and cutting the low end dramatically improves the wah's response.Combining sound and usability, this is truly a battle-ready fuzz pedal! It delivers a raw, authentic germanium-like character. At full gain, it produces a powerful sound, but setting it just below full delivers a perfectly balanced fuzz tone that's absolutely irresistible!!

Leveraging the warmth and softness unique to germanium transistors, we've recreated the Germanium Fuzz Face sound envisioned by RoShi Pedals. Using carefully selected domestic germanium transistors, it responds linearly to your guitar's volume and tone controls. After testing numerous transistors, we selected two distinct types. While many domestic germanium transistors offer straightforward tonal qualities, using just one type can lack the grit and glassy highs we desired. By combining these two transistors with different characteristics, we achieved the sound RoShi Pedals aimed for.
Variations in sound are unavoidable when using germanium transistors. This SMUG FACE Ge also exhibits individual sound differences. You'll notice variations in how it responds to high gain settings or when you turn down your guitar's volume. However, each unit undergoes a thorough sound check and adjustment during assembly. There are no so-called "lemons" with issues like choppy, broken-up sound or no sustain. Each unit is tuned to deliver what we believe is a fantastic sound.
You can control the sound right at your fingertips, from the glassy clean tones that are part of the Fuzz Face's charm to a biting crunch sound. Furthermore, the inclusion of the Shave knob extends its coverage to overdrive sounds. The Shave knob allows you to cut low frequencies at the input stage while preserving the biting high end, enabling precise sound shaping.
